Formed in 1995, the company has its origins in Point of Sale, scanning RF technology, hardware installation & maintenance, but has grown to include other services such as warehousing, data/communications cabling, software installation and project management.

Case Studies
Officeworks
This Major Infrastructure upgrade to 120 plus stores across Australia involved the implementation of Cisco 1242 AG RF & VOIP Telephone System. Southern Rework project managed the entire process which involved surveying every store, installation and commissioning of the RF infrastructure including Access Points, Power and Data Cabling and installation of Cisco VOIP telephones as well as upgrading the of network switches & UPS’s.
Spotlight
Contracted by Surefire Systems, Southern Rework was involved in the upgrade of Victorian Spotlight stores to new NCR POS Systems. This involved the initial installation of temporary POS and SAP training systems in training rooms at each store. Then returning at a later date to decommission old POS equipment and fully install the new NCR Hardware to the shop floor.
David Jones
This project was the installation of Motorola (Symbol) RF infrastructure to cover the entire area of each David Jones store across Australia. Southern Rework surveyed over 30 stores and installed Data cabling, Access Points & switches. We also staged and deployed the RF devices in kit form including AP's and Terminals.
Target Australia
Another major project, this involved the rollout of a Symbol 11MB Spectrum24 RF System to over 170 stores across Australia. Southern Rework project managed the entire process which involved surveying every store, installation and commissioning of the RF infrastructure including Access Points and Power and Data Cabling, staging all RF Devices including AP's and Terminals and deployment of these devices in kit form to all stores. This rollout occurred during an aggressive three month implementation schedule.
Myer
The scope of this project was the installation of a Symbol 11MB Spectrum24 RF system to cover the receiving areas MGB stores, including the dock and returns and claims areas. Southern Rework surveyed over 70 stores and installed the AP's using existing data and power cabling to minimize cost. We also staged and deployed the RF devices in kit form including AP's and Terminals.
Qantas Australia
Southern Rework surveyed and installed the required Symbol RF infrastructure including the AP's and cabling in the aircraft maintenance areas in both Melbourne and Sydney Airports. The system is used for stock control in the parts areas of the business.
Support Services
Currently, Southern Rework has support contacts with many organizations that recognise the importance of their POS & RF systems. We have support contracts with independent supermarkets all over Australia and provide a "Hot Swap" service to quickly change over faulty Hardware, in most cases within 24 hrs. We also have a team of mobile technicians for on site call outs to stores all around Victoria.
